Around

Trust & safety

Safety Center

When you book someone through Around, you should know who they are. When you're booked, you should know you'll be paid. Here is everything we do to make that true, and what you can do too.

What we check

Every creator is reviewed

Creators apply to join Around. Our team reviews every application before a page goes live, and every account is tied to a verified phone number.

✓ ID verified

Creators can verify their identity with a government ID and a live selfie, checked by Stripe. The badge on their page means they passed. Around never sees or keeps the documents.

✓ Licenses and certifications verified

When a creator lists a license or certification, our team checks it. Verified ones are marked on their page.

What you can see before you book

  • How long they've been on Around
  • How many bookings they've completed
  • How quickly they usually reply
  • Reviews, written only by people who actually booked them
  • Any verified ID, licenses or certifications

Creators see the same about you: how long you've been on Around, and reviews from creators.

Protected payments

You always pay through Around, never the creator directly. The money is held until the booking happens. At the end, you give the creator a six-digit confirmation code, and only then are they paid. If a creator doesn't show up, you get your money back.

Card details are handled by Stripe. Around never sees your full card number.

Keep it on Around

Messages on Around can't include phone numbers, email addresses, or outside payment apps like Venmo, Cash App or Zelle. Once a conversation or a payment moves somewhere else, we can't hold the money, refund a no-show, or see what was agreed if something goes wrong.

If anyone asks you to pay outside Around, don't. Report them, and we'll take a look.

Tips for meeting someone new

  • Check reviews and badges before you book.
  • Use Share booking with a friend on your booking to send who, when and where to someone you trust.
  • Meet somewhere public when the service allows it.
  • Keep messages and payment in the app.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave, and tell us.

For creators

  • Verify your ID in Settings → Creator. It takes about two minutes, and people book verified creators with more confidence.
  • Add your licenses and certifications with a photo so our team can verify them.
  • You see a customer's profile, how long they've been on Around and their reviews before you accept a booking. You can decline any booking.
  • You're paid once the customer gives you their code, so never take payment another way.
  • Block anyone who makes you uncomfortable. They can't message you or book you again.

If something goes wrong

In danger? Call 911 first.

Your safety comes before anything else. Call emergency services, then let us know.

To report someone, open their page or your booking and tap Report, or email [email protected]. A person reads every report, and the other person is never told who reported them.

You can also block someone from your conversation. Blocked accounts are listed in Settings → Privacy & data, where you can unblock them later.
